Director of Communications (Montgomery, AL)

The Alabama Pharmacy Association (APA) has an opening for Director of Communications. This is high level professional work in the field of public relations and communications.  This person must be a creative, detailed, self-starting individual experienced in public and media relations.  Applicants must possess excellent writing and communication skills and must be able to identify opportunities in which to promote the mission of the association and its members.

This position is responsible for the management of the APA website; drafting and disbursement of press releases and public service announcements; social media outreach; development of e-mail publications; development and oversight of the quarterly publication; and all other areas related to outreach efforts of the APA.

Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing; Journalism or related field
+ Minimum of three (3) years professional experience.
+ Experience in graphic design, developing newsletters, press releases, and copy editing
+ Strong computer skills to include the Adobe Suite of Products are a must
+ Familiarity with association related activities is desirable.

Salary is negotiable based on experience.
